"The nursing home has a lovely peaceful atmosphere which is created by the management and filters down to all members of the staff. Every attempt is made to make sure the residents are in a stress free environment, that they are relaxed, and that all their needs are being met.
All dignity is preserved when receiving personal care or dealing with sensitive issues. The staff remain professional and respectful and will either give advice or find someone who can."

"Mum was a resident at Summerdyne Nursing Home, for four years from 2021 until she passed away in March. Throughout that time the care that Mum received was exemplary in all aspects, personal care, activities, food and drink. Her room and clothing were always kept beautifully. End-of-life care was sensitive and respectful. Most highly recommended."

What activities are available to keep residents engaged?

Whilst we offer the usual range of activities, including arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise classes, gardening, and social events, we also encourage a wide range of volunteers, which enables us to broaden what we can do.  We feel it is important to maintain links into the community, and so try to get out and about as much as possible too.  Our Lifestyle and Wellbeing programme is designed to stimulate residents physically, mentally, and socially, ensuring they remain active and engaged.

How is wellbeing supported beyond physical care?

Wellbeing is supported through a holistic approach that includes social activities, mental stimulation, and opportunities for personal growth. Care homes also focus on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and connected.

How are individual needs and preferences accommodated?

At Heritage, personalised care plans are developed for each resident, taking into account their individual preferences, hobbies, and interests. This ensures that each person’s unique needs are met, whether through specific activities, dietary preferences, or social engagement opportunities.

What measures are in place to foster social interaction?

Heritage care homes often have communal spaces, group activities, and events designed to encourage socialisation. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities that interest them and connect with fellow residents and the wider community, fostering a strong sense of community.

How do care homes handle residents with varying levels of mobility?

Activities and environments in care homes are tailored to accommodate residents with different levels of mobility. From seated exercises to accessible gardens, care homes ensure that everyone can participate in ways that suit their physical abilities.
