Winnie's 102 birthday celebration!

Our lovely Winnie celebrated her 102nd birthday on 20th November with a visit from the Mayor of Bewdley and BBC Hereford and Worcester! Thank you so much to friends, family & the wonderful community for making Winnie’s birthday truly magical. She was overwhelmed to receive over 180 birthday cards! She had a party at Summerdyne with her friends, her son Chris and other family and also received phone calls from grandchildren as far and wide as New Zealand, Canada and Dubai. Winnie says the key to a long life is eating well, being sociable, and being happy. Her motto is “Don’t think about age. Just carry on.”

Christmas was magical at Summerdyne.

We armchair travelled to Canada and then Finland for all the gingerbread goodies at the Christmas markets. Our favourite Cellist Connie visited with her Christmas show. We had visiting panto stage A Christmas Carol, musical entertainment from Huw Knight and visits from the Debutots children. We carolled with St Anne's church, had a fun-filled Christmas Jumper Day and, of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a visit from Father Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who ventured out in Storm Darragh to support our staff and residents at their Christmas fair. There was a raffle, tombola, cake stall, food and refreshments, stall holders and a stand from the Worcester Wildlife Trust. A fantastic day of fundraising for our Residents Fund and a really lovely community event.

We waved goodbye to 2024 and welcomed in 2025 with an afternoon party. Residents and team shared their favourite memories of the year over yummy food, bubbly Buck’s Fizz and a bit of boogying to ABBA. So what's in store for 2025? More of the same please!
