We had a wonderful Christmas at Astley Hall with lots of visits from family and friends and, of course, Father Christmas! We also welcomed some feathered friends with the Wye Valley Falconry team. They took the owls and a falcon room to room, so everyone had an opportunity to see and even hold these gorgeous creatures.
Christmas activities at Astley Hall
Our home looked great with all the decorations up and a huge Christmas tree in our reception. Residents crafted decorations, including Christmas angels, and we had lots of fun on Christmas Jumper Day.
Our favourite entertainers, Kim and Jeanette, brought their Christmas shows and everyone sang and toe tapped along to the Christmas hits. We also loved a new band called Glam Sparrow, who we hope to welcome back again next year.
There were all the traditions for Christmas week, including the biggest turkey with all the trimmings for Christmas Day lunch, after everyone had opened their stockings. Thank you to all of our team for going the extra mile to make Christmas so special for our residents.
