Christmas is coming ….oh yes it is!!

Christmas is coming to West Eaton and it all started with a delivery of Christmas trees from Leominster Council. That spurred us on to get the decs out and we had a decoration inspiration trip to Burford House. Lovely to see all their festive displays and enjoy seasonal treats in their café.

We invited families to come in for a photo shoot. Our photographer was our head chef Emlyn. And, our new hairdresser Sonja who was on hand to ensure everyone looked their best! A brilliant day capturing memories.

Christmas is coming….

We have a jam-packed diary of festive events.

School children from Luston Primary came with poems and songs about Christmas. Residents were touched as they had thoughtfully made individual fruitcakes and cards for each person. Thank you to all the staff for organising.

We enjoyed a Christmas crafternoon listening to seasonal music. Thank you Veronica and Debbie for your support and creative input! The next one is on the afternoon of 18th December so if you fancy it please drop by.

We have been enjoying a lot of festive cheer with the help of our favourite entertainers Eddie Graham and Huw Knight. Everyone loves a sing along, and some delicious mince pies. We are baking lots of our resident’s family recipes.

And Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without panto! We had a ball being entertained by Eva Long Productions version of Cinderella. Residents loved it and we had a few young visitors who also kept us all entertained!

Thank you to all the family and friends who supported our raffle. It was drawn by Terina Williams, our Morrisons Community Champion at our Christmas drinks and panto. We raised £200 and shall be asking the residents at our next meeting what they would like to put it towards.

Our Tiny Tablet has arrived!

Our new Tiny Tablet has so many possibilities. This is the culmination of our year long fundraising. We are grateful to John Morgan of Inspired Inspirations: Touch Screen Activity Tables for Care and Education, for all his help. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us fundraise, especially residents’ and staff’s families and friends. Plus Wayne Burton and all the members of The Friends of Herefordshire Alzheimer’s and Dementia Sufferers. Their tireless fundraising and generous donations got us to our target.
