At Summerdyne, we are well into the festivities and are preparing for our Christmas Fayre, when Santa Claus is coming to grant some Christmas wishes! Please come along and join the fun on Saturday 17th December. As well as Santa, there will be crafts, music and delicious treats.
We dressed up for Christmas Jumper Day on 6th December, including our therapy dog Syke. We wonder what she will get from Santa Paws for her first Christmas! And we have started a new themed event, transforming our home into The Summerdyne Arms. It was such a hit with our residents. Pints, pork scratching, darts and domino’s! What more could you want?
Granting birthday wishes
Our lovely Winnie has just celebrated her 101st birthday. When Laura, our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead asked what she would like for her birthday she said “I’d like a nice man.” Laura was able to make her birthday wishes come true thanks to Buff Boyz Butlers and handsome Brandon.
Winnies face lit up like a Christmas tree! She was really excited and thought it was so funny as well because we’d taken her birthday wish so literally. Brandon presented Winnie with her cake and a Baileys. 14th – A visit to Hopley’s Farm Shop to listen to the choir.
17th – Our Summerdyne Christmas Fair (see above).
20th – Entertainment from Ukes on the Edge.
21th – A Christmas pamper session with mulled wine, music and mince pies.
22th- Our Christmas Party with JDR performing.
24th – Christmas Eve Gifts and a visit from Santa.
25th – Christmas Day traditions with a huge turkey lunch with all the trimmings!
26th – Boxing Day.
31st – New Years Eve celebrations.
